Tony Mazzaglia was renowned for his successful plunges, many of them at Albion Park. But his best win was with a 100-1 shot when Sir Wisp won the Group 1 Stradbroke in 1977. Mazzaglia always had a good horses and a top apprentice in his stable, including Tony Erhart, Kerry Smith and Jon Walk. His best wins included the Stradbroke Handicap (Sir Wisp), Eye Liner Stakes (Sir Wisp), Goldmarket (Romanino), QTC Sprint (Count Clavell), St. Aubin Handicap (Top Command), Auction Handicap (Mr Lucky), Healy Stakes (Black Desmond) and Doomben Mile (Kerry Ann).
