Sir Joshua Peter Bell

Regarded as the man who really got Queensland racing on the front foot. He was a breeder and administrator who raced some of the best horses seen in Queensland in the later part of the 19th century. It is estimated he won nearly 200 races as an owner which is amazing in a time when race meetings were limited. His best horses included Waterloo, Lord Clifden, Whiskers, Elastic, Legerdemain and Cadmus.
