Michael Kerr

Michael Kerr was a talented rider who was at his best from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. He won a Caulfield Cup on the mighty grey Cole Diesel and a Stradbroke on Daybreak Lover. He became disenchanted with racing after a serious fall at Ipswich and apart from a short comeback in the mid-2000s dropped out of racing to pursue business interests.

His best wins included the Caulfield Cup (Cole Diesel), Toorak Handicap (Cole Diesel), Stradbroke Handicap (Daybreak Lover), QTC Lightning (Daybreak Lover, Orianda), Bribie Handicap (Orianda, Spritely Jet [2], Life At the Top), Ipswich Cup (Hot On Aces), Eye Liner Stakes (Bank Coin), Goldmarket (Cole Diesel), Tramway (Cole Diesel), Shannon Quality (Cole Diesel), Fosters Cup (The Irishman), Gregory Terrace Cup (Tiamo Star) and Christmas Handicap (Miss Fleet).
