Gordon Williams

A former good jockey, Gordon Williams trained his small team from Deagon for more than 40 years. He was a master trainer of stayers and had a great record with horses by the sire Aloe whose best horse was the Williams-trained Mode.

His best horses included Mode (Brisbane Cup, QTC Oaks, Grand Prix), Continual (Albion Park Cup, QTC Metropolitan, Moreton Handicap, Hamilton Handicap, May Cup), Makata (Ipswich Cup, QTC Metropolitan, Exhibition Handicap, Moreton Handicap), Alostar (Moreton Handicap, Labour Day Cup, Claret Stakes), All Fashion (Labour Day Cup), Miners Inn (Sir Winston Churchill Stakes), King Apple (Easter Cup), Koomeela Stakes (Big Fire) and Sapphire Bracelet (Big Fire).
