Very good three-year-old for Bart Cummings when he won the Phar Lap Stakes, Rosehill Guineas, Queensland Guineas, and $1 million GCTC Southern Cross Classic. His win in the 1990 Guineas was also marked by a protest from second placed Dr. Grace (Jim Cassidy) but apprentice Chris Munce won that battle as well. However, Solar Circle was hindered by problems as an older horse and eventually sent to Jim Atkins in Toowoomba. Atkins won a Caloundra Cup and Toowoomba Cup with Solar Circle.
