Was mainly known as a provincial horse until he was six when he took an enormous step up in class. He won his second Lismore Cup early in the season and then took the Gold Coast Holiday Cup. He ventured to Randwick where he won the 1970 Queen Elizabeth Stakes giving jockey Peter Cook his first Group 1 win. Trainer Alby Pratt dined out for years on meeting the Queen, who was at Randwick, after the win. Panvale won two more open company races in Brisbane before retiring.
