Tiny filly who was the darling of Brisbane race crowds in the early 1970s. She won the QTC Oaks and then beat boom Sydney galloper Planet Kingdom in the 1971 QTC Grand Prix. Mode then beat another Queensland idol Tails in the 1972 Brisbane Cup. Eagle Farm has rarely seen such emotional scenes as the pony sized mare shot away from the champion stayer to record an impressive win. Mode was retired to stud but unfortunately died while foaling.
