One of the few restricted class horses to win the mighty Stradbroke Handicap (he was still eligible for a Trial). Lucky Cloud got into the Stradbroke with the postage stamp of 45.5kgs in 1973 and with Fred Marsland in the saddle led all the way to beat a star studded field. Showed that was no fluke when third to Craigola and Charlton Boy in that year’s Doomben 10,000. Later, he won four more open company races including a handicap at Albion Park.
