Won his maiden in the northern rivers and worked his way through the classes winning eight restricted class races before taking the feature City Handicap at the 1976 QTC Exhibition carnival. It was the start of a wonderful season as he won 10 open company races during the next 12 months. They included the GCTC Goldmarket Handicap, BTC Booroolong Stakes and ITC Eye Liner Stakes. But 1978 was Blue’s Finito’s big year when he completed the Tattersall’s Healy Stakes-Doomben 10,000 double. Blue’s Finito was a later a more than handy sire with the best of his offspring top sprinter Tiny’s Finito.
