Often best remembered for his sometimes strapper, ‘Fearless’ Fred Casey, the Australian heavyweight boxing champion and later long time doyen of the Bookies Club. But Ampass was a very good stayer winning the 1965 Queens Cup and 1965 Queensland Cup.
