Women jockeys owe her a great respect because Pam O'Neill fought long and hard for their right to ride against men. She finally got her permit to ride against men in 1979 but was not allowed to complete an apprenticeship.

Dalby

Dalby is one of the oldest racing venues in Queensland conducting its first race meeting over two days on July 27 and 28, 1859. In 2009 the Dalby Plough Inn Cup celebrated its 150th anniversary from its first run in 1859.
