Facilities Town: Rockhampton (population 60,000) is a major provincial city with all amenities visitors require. 
How to get to race track: The track is centrally situated across the Fitzroy River from the central business district. It is easily accessible by private transport or taxi. 
How to get to town: By major airlines (50 mins Nth of Brisbane)
Tilt train (7 hours from Brisbane)
Private car (7-8 hours from Brisbane)
Major bus lines serve the city 
History: The club was founded in the 1920s but went into recess in the late 1920s before being reactivated in 1934.The club’s Amateur Day has been part of Rockhampton Winter Racing Carnival in June each year for all of those years.
For many recent years, the club has raced on Queens Birthday Monday Public Holiday. Its annual Amateur Ball is a well-patronised social event.
With privatisation of TAB Queensland, the club went to a two-day “stand alone” racing carnival in the first week of October 2000. In 2000 it hosted 14 meetings with prizemoney totaling $150,000.
